For me the dominant affect of this poem is mood. I think you capture a mood of being between, of going forward and remembering--vaguely. The past is always a part of us, and yet it fades, becomes at times

it has always worked out Maybe I just remember it that way :))

Thank you! I was also surprised to find that swan species was invasive. I did notice that in the pictures no other birds were nearby. Usually, when we go to that beach, we'll see geese, ducks and seagulls

I don't know what to think about this challenge. I never pretended to be someone I wasn't. I never strove to improve for someone else. But for most of my life it seems I have defied expectations and have

it's getting to do what you love. Yes. The secret to a happy life🌟 (I just upvoted my own comment!)

Thank you! I went through a book writing phase. Self-published my first book in 2011 and my last in 2017. It was as though I had a fever :) It started with a book about my experience with an illness that

Nobody wants to be old, but sometimes it's very helpful to have lived history. I don't recognize the world I live in now. When I was a child in rural New York, one phrase everyone respected was, "It's

I think part of the problem is, to the uninitiated, they are all swans. Trumpeter, tundra, mute. Ecologists make distinctions based on small differences between species. That's what it seems like to us,

How about those pythons in the Everglades? Humans messed up the environment by introducing these giant, predatory snakes. I guess it's only right that humans interfere to try to reset the balance. Good

I thought of Marius the giraffe as I wrote this. Ecologists are not necessarily lovers of nature. They are calculating scientists. They don't see the swan's feathers, they don't see Marius' lovely eyes.

I am soooo jealous of Damaso's confidence Oh my heavens...he is such a horrible person. They do give us his background so we understand why he doesn't relate to others. No father. Tormented by peers. Growing

Hi @katerinaramm, Thanks for the recommendation. I've been watching this to go to sleep at night (on my iPad). It is hilarious. And also benign. What a mix of characters. I had to stop myself from laughing

My daughter wasn't going to bother those swans. She knows they are dangerous. The dog was on two leashes, attached to her ;) Only when that noisy woman came did the swans become alarmed. My daughter left.

Thank you very much @jotakrevs and @curangel. The acknowledgement and support are much appreciated🌟

:) You're a girl after my daughter's heart. She has the gift for making $1.00 into $1.25. My mother had the talent too. It skipped my generation.

It's still a work in progress for me, but at least I recognize the problem :)

Your support is very much appreciated!🌟

Thank you very much, @esther-emmanuel!

Well they sure don't like them in California. I'm proud of my neighbors on Long Island for putting a stop to the killing. By the way: Every now and then I Google my name. I want to see if I have become

Thank you!!
