One is only as good and efficient as one’s mind, the growth and development of character comes from the openness and readiness of the mind to adapt to values and ideas it’s poised with.

Why is the mind the starting point for change and development?

The ability of the mind to withstand and adhere to decisions brings about change and development.

Stephen Richards once said, “Before aligning the mind, body and soul, one has to straighten their mind out.” This quote goes to show that change and development begin from the mind.

You would ask, what part of the body is mind located?

The mind, in general, is perceived to be comprised of a part of the brain and the central nervous system which makes it the decision-making system of the body.

To further buttress on the strength of the mind, the saying “as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is” signifies that the mind being established as the decision-making system of the body, moulds a man. The mind is capable of receiving and processing data into actions. Before any change is noticed, the mind first reacts to received data and relays the results to the nervous system which converts them into action.

The building of the mind is affected by things seen and heard, the mind works as a system that checks behaviours it sees and hears from day to day human activities, the mind how receives ideas of vices and virtues, which it can tell by already instilled standards of good and bad from younger days. The mind can be acted upon by internal and external factors. Factors that affect the rate of change and development are Beliefs, culture, social media, broadcast media, print media, and human relationships.

Vying from behaviours and characters a bit, the government that governs a people need to affect and correct the mindset of the people to ensure seamless rule and reign, the mindset of the people towards amenities and development of their areas needed to be affected to enable the correct use and preservation of the facilities.
