Every varieties of plant or crops has where they do better and where they'll never do better no matter the kind of manure given to it. One of the factors that contribute to such behavior of crops depends on the environmental factor like what the nature of the soil there. Is the soil convenient for the kind of crops to be planted. This is the same things in Nigeria when talking about tomatoes. Tomatoes are known to do very better in some Northern part of the country while in South East, it's very difficult to grow and even if it grows, it'll not produce many seeds to serve for commercial except only for the family use.
I have studied so hard to know while most people believe tomatoes are not for the Southern part of Nigeria. To have the real results for such argument, I have to do the practice myself. I planted a tomatoes which I shares and discussed here last year. If you could remember or search through my articles, it'll help you understand how fruitful the tomatoes was.
What I'm saying is that the tomatoes I planted months ago was doing very fine.I make sure that the species for the tomatoes planting was good enough. Actually, when I planted the tomatoes and it grows, I was very surprised with the kind of freshness the tomatoes was. The side of it was that the tomatoes even produced numbers of tomatoes seeds.
I was waiting patiently for me to harvest the tomatoes seeds but it painful that I lost such tomatoes seeds for nothing. This happens after the raining season was over. As we entered dry and harmmattan period, I saw that my tomatoes dried up leaving the seeds damaged and the leaves and stems dried.
With the kind of behavior I saw for my tomatoes for both dry and rainy season, I can draw my observation that why my tomatoes was doing very well was as a result of steady raining and now that dry and harmmattan period has taking over, the tomatoes finds it difficult to have nutrients from the soil.
Before, I was among those that shouted at the Northern parts of Nigeria with the believe that tomatoes can grow well in South Eastern part of the country. With the evidence I have at hand, tomatoes can never do better in South East because the areas is not good for tomatoes planting. Tomatoes needs a swamp areas with good souls which South East lacks. Tomatoes also needs better soils for germination and growing of tomatoes which South East lacks. Tomatoes needs a very portion of land which it's only in the North such land could be available.
The other points while tomatoes will not do better in Southeast is because almost all the areas is covered by stone. In my place Ebonyi state, our land for cultivation is almost all stones with little sands. This a very fine point white tomatoes finds it difficult to grow when rain is over because during dry and harmmattan period, the tomatoes will not be able to enter the stones from under in search of nutrients.
With the tomatoes I shared, I believe that I planted it on the tope of stone and it was doing fine because rain was touching it and the whole soil was watery but now, the tomatoes is partially dead because no water it can get from the stones.

Cada variedad de planta o cultivo tiene donde le va mejor y donde nunca le irá mejor sin importar el tipo de abono que se le dé. Uno de los factores que contribuyen a tal comportamiento de los cultivos depende del factor ambiental como lo que la naturaleza del suelo allí. Es el suelo conveniente para el tipo de cultivos que se van a plantar. Lo mismo ocurre en Nigeria con los tomates. Se sabe que los tomates se dan muy bien en algunas zonas del norte del país, mientras que en el sureste es muy difícil cultivarlos y, aunque crezcan, no producirán muchas semillas que sirvan para el comercio, salvo para el uso familiar.
He estudiado tanto para saber mientras que la mayoría de la gente cree que los tomates no son para la parte sur de Nigeria. Este un punto muy fino tomates blancos tiene dificultades para crecer cuando la lluvia es más porque durante el período seco y harmmattan, los tomates no será capaz de entrar en las piedras de debajo en busca de nutrientes.
