Greetings!
After I started to play GU a few days ago I am starting to get to know more about the deck that I am using and therefore makes me more eager to test my deck by playing the "Daily Play & Earn". I must admit, I am raring to improve my GU skills, and win matches at least 5 out of 10, winning five will be enough for me and hopefully, I got to improve. And what's the best way to improve than to test my skills by battling it out in the "Daily Play & Earn"?
So, without further ado, here's how my "Daily Play & to Earn" went. By the way, this is my fifth "Daily Plan & Earn". when I first built my deck I immediately tested it in the "Daily Play & Earn".
Match #1 - Defeat, failed to control the board
I chose Slayer as my God Power in this match and used my mana gem on my first turn so that I can control the board early in the game, I got aggressive and deployed two cards immediately. Right at the bat, my opponent immediately controlled the board by eliminating one of my cards after my first turn and then eliminating two more cards after my second turn. His card with "confused" derails my strategy. On his third turn, he eliminated my frontline card, also, my card with "confused" further derailed my strategy as it strike a random card, and halfway through the match he starts to cripple my God Power and the match slipped from me from then on.
Match #2 - Defeat, against a frontline-heavy deck
Again, in this match, I forgot the effect of a "confused" card, derailing my early game strategy. My opponent in this match was frontline heavy which I struggled to contain resulting in my second defeat in a row. After this match, I tweaked my deck by adding more frontline cards thus making my deck also frontline heavy. Halfway through this match, he is in control by utilizing his frontline cards effectively.
Match #3 - Victory, controlling the board
After my two defeats in a row, I tweaked my deck into a frontline-heavy and it works in this match which I finally have control of the board using frontline cards. My opponent in this match is Elyrian, a God to which I am struggling to win a game, I was lucky to draw a card with "Twin-Strike" early in the match which gives me slight control of the board. Then in the next turn, I was luckier because I drew "Tamed Mammoth" a card that gets +1 strength every time a friendly creature takes damage. Tamed Mammoth I think is the strongest card on my current deck. Nearing the end of the match my opponent uses his Leech strategy which gives +1 Health every time the card gets dies..
Match #4 - Victory
Just like the previous match I was able to control the board in this match and used my "favor" to pull a card from my deck which helps me get the victory. In the beginning, I was lucky to draw frontline cards on my hand which is very favorable for me in controlling the board. Halfway through this match, I almost got control of the board which is a likely scenario for winning the match, and indeed I was able to get the victory twice in a row.
Match #5 - Victory, against Malissus that utilizes Leech to restore Health, a God which I always struggle with
This match makes me very nervous because I am up against Mallisus, a God to which my deck struggled mightily in the previous matches. Needless to say, I haven't been able to win against (as far as I remember). In the early part of the game, I was lucky to draw two cards with Twin-Strike and Tamed Mammoth. Tamed Mammoth is a card that deals lots of damage if not eliminated after it was played. I am so nervous about this match, especially near the end of the match because Leech restores health to my opponent's God but this time I was able to finally pull a win against Malissus.
Match #6 - Defeat
In this match, I am up against Aeona, in my previous matches I kind of found Aeona as a formidable foe for Auros but I was able able to pull some upset on an Aeona deck in my previous matches. In this match, I was not able to utilize Tamed Mammoth as my opponent has a nice strategy of eliminating it and does not let me use it to its full potential.
Match #7 - Defeat
My opponent in this match has a card that is similar to Tamed Mammoth, it is called "Thunder Caller", it accumulates strength, therefore increasing its damage. I was not able to eliminate the card and my opponent emerged victorious.
Match #8 - Defeat
In this match, I was caught off-guard by the blitz card of my opponent and from then on my opponent controlled the remainder of the match giving me another defeat in the process.
Match #9 - Defeat - Blood Ritual is OP?
In this match, I am again matched up with Malissus who uses "Blood Ritual" God power which destroys a creature with one health and then heals the God for 1. I never got to run my strategy on this opponent because the board control was on my opponent's side right at the beginning of the match. Then Blood Ritual made the match unreachable for me as I am playing to my opponent's will.
Match #10 - Defeat - Thievery, an overpowered God Power?
In this last match I again encountered a card that seems to be overpowered, the card is Thievery, which steals a random "one mana card" from my deck every time it is used then put it in my opponent's hand.
Thoughts
In this edition of Daily Play & Earn my victories came from when I have control of the board, I guess board control on this game is very important as it dictates the outcome of the game most of the time unless someone made a mistake that turns the outcome of the game.
That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.
