Welcome to the weekly edition of my "Daily Grind" series of blogs. These past few days I noticed that the game has become increasingly competitive with each passing day. Last week I was casually winning 6-7 matches on daily play & earn but this week I noticed that winning 6-7 matches is not as easy as last week.
Aside from the rising difficulty of winning matches, I noticed that a lot of decks with expensive cards such as Demogorgon, Eiko, Hortuk, Thaeriel, Pyramid Warden, Divine Coronet, Lysander's Spear, Highborn Knight, Avatar of War, and "Jason, and Medea's Muse" are now roaming Midnight Shadow (which is not the case last week, I think).
I think one of the reasons for the rising difficulty of winning matches is the players' rising skills. I think players are now quick to adapt to the ever-changing meta or simply because a lot of players now are able to intelligently use gudecks at their disposal.
With that being said, I decided to entirely use a new type of deck. Instead of using traditional "Wild", "Aggro", or "Control" decks, I tried to use "hidden" creatures (gudecks called my deck "Midrange"). On my first attempt at using it, I was relegated to Twilight Shadow (which is still my current rank at the time of writing this blog). But with some little tweaks, I am again slowly climbing back to Midnight Shadow which I think I can achieve tomorrow when the "Daily Play & Earn" resets.
After some tweaks, my new hidden nature deck was able to win 5 out of 10 matches in today's daily play & earn. My deck was able to beat a Light and War deck with a win rate of more than 50%.

In this featured match I did not expect to win because I already knew that any type of deck that I made using my existing collection of cards is still inferior to any war deck archetype.

Against any war deck, I am always looking for my relic removal card, but in this match, I was not able to find it. Luckily, I am going first.

My luck ran out fast when I was not able to find any card to play on turn-on, so, I passed. My opponent played Belligerent Warlock.

I played Canopy Barrage to kill Belligerent Warlock. My opponent played Vanguard Axewoman.

I played Barksworn Protector. My opponent used his god power and went face.

I played Feral Shapeshifter and I killed Vanguard Axewoman using Barksworn Protector. My opponent played Auric Rush to kill Barksworn Protector and then he played Raid Reveller.
5 Mana
I used my god power to remove the protection of Raid Reveller. I played my second Feral Shapeshifter to reduce the life of Raid Reveller to 1 and then I ignored Raid Reveller and I went face using Feral Shapeshifter. My opponent played Ogre Archer to kill one of my Feral Shapeshifters and then he went face using Raid Reveller.
5.1 Mana
I killed Ogre Archer using Feral Shapeshifter. I killed Raid Reveller using my god power. I played Barksworn Protector. I got Nightleaf Trapper from the Sanctum. My opponent played Auric Mage killing Feral Shapeshifter in the process.

I played Vanir Lion to buff Barksworn Protector. I killed Auric Mage using Barksworn Protector. I played two Nightleaf Warriors. My opponent played Ogre Archer to reduce the life of my Vanir Lion to 1 and then kill it using Vicious Rend.

I killed Ogre Archer using my god power and Nightleaf Warrior. I played Nightleaf Trapper and I went face using Nightleaf Warrior. My opponent played Achillean Dedicant and killed my Nightleaf Warrior.

I killed Achillean Dedicant using my god power and Lightning Strike. I went face using Nightleaf Trapper. My opponent killed Nightleaf Trapper using Avalanche Strike and then he played Bladecaster and Lambasting Wand.

I used my god power to reduce the life of Bladecaster to 2. May opponent wend face with Bladecaster, god power, and Lambasting Wand.

I played Ember Oni. My opponent played Apep's Doomcaller and played Vicoious Rend to kill Ember Oni.

I killed Apep's Doomcaller using The Hunt and I played Encumbered Looter. My opponent played Tartession Skirmisher and buffs it with Hearts of Bronze.

I played Firewine to buff my Emcumbered Looter to kill Tartessian Skirmisher. I played Encumbered Looter and Iron-tooth Goblin. My opponent played Ranger Firstbow and Swashbuckler to kill Iron-tooth Goblin and used his god power.

I killed Ranger Firsblow using Encumbered Looter. I killed Swashbuckler using my god power. I played Combat Medic. My opponent used his god power and played Bronze Servant.

I killed Bronze Servant with Combat Medic. I played Dockside Prowler. I used my god power to heal 1 hp. My opponent played Orcish Elite.

I used my god power and Canopy Barrage to kill Orcish Elite. I played Dockside Prowler. My opponent played Bladecaster and used his god power.

I killed Bladecaster using my god power and Dockside Prowler. I went face using my second Dockside Prowler. I played Enraged Ally from the Sanctum. I played Faeflame Blade. My opponent played Viking Warmaiden
