Spray Tool Calibration
Farmers complain that the pesticides they apply are NOT EFFECTIVE OR PHYSOTOXIC, although the pesticides used follow the recommended type and the dosage.

This cause

  • Preparation of the amount of pesticide solution is incorrect
  • Spray deposit / droplet uneven
  • Sprayers are less experienced

The effectiveness of a pesticide depends on:

  1. Application Engineering
  2. Stadia from the plant itself
  3. Stadia from Pests, Diseases and Weeds
  4. Weather
  5. Time of spraying / when application

What is calibration ????
Calibration is Counting the number of products applied to an area appropriately based on the workings of a particular application equipment. The amount of product less, will cause pest control is not satisfactory, can even cause pest resistance, Excessive amount of product, will cause waste, maybe Phytotoxic, environmental pollution and residue

Simple Calibration Procedure 1 (determine spray volume per area)

  1. Choose the right nozzle
  2. Fill the tank with water whose volume is known
  3. Make a testing ground of a known extent
  4. Spray the test field with normal pressure and speed.
  5. Spray volume for the area: The initial volume in the tank before spraying is reduced by the residual volume in the tank after spraying
  6. Example: Area: 100 m2. Initial tank volume = 5 Liters; Residual volume in the tank = 2 Liters. Water spent on an area of 100 m2 = 5 Lt - 2 Lt = 3 Liters
  7. Then for 1 ha = (10000/100) x 3 Lt = 300 Liter / ha

Simple Calibration Procedure 2 (determining the concentration of solution per tank)

  1. Ask the farmer how much land you have (Amah, rante, etc.), convert to m2, eg 2500 m2
  2. Ask the farmer how many tanks are usually needed to spray the land, eg 5 tanks
  3. So the area per tank = 2500 m2 / 5 tank = 500 m2
  4. If Pyzero's recommendation = 1 Liter / ha, then Pyzero's need per tank = (500 m2 / 10000 m2) x 1 Liter = 0.05 x 1000 ML = 50 ML per tank
  5. If TiGold recommendation = 100 gr / ha, then TiGold requirement per tank = (500 m2 / 10000 m2) x 100 gr = 0.05 x 100 gr = 5 gram per tank; if TiGold packaging is 25 gr, then = 1 packing for = 25 gr / 5 gr = 5 tank

this is all I can write, sorry there are still many shortcomings

Kalibrasi Alat Semprot

  3. Maka luasan per tangki = 2500 m2 / 5 tangki = 500 m2
  4. Apabila rekomendasi Pyzero = 1 Liter/ha, maka kebutuhan Pyzero per tangki = (500 m2 / 10000 m2 ) x 1 Liter = 0.05 x 1000 ML = 50 ML per tangki
  5. Apabila rekomendasi TiGold = 100 gr/ha, maka kebutuhan TiGold per tangki = (500 m2 / 10000 m2 ) x 100 gr = 0.05 x 100 gr = 5 gram per tangki; kalau kemasan TiGold 25 gr, maka = 1 kemasan untuk = 25 gr / 5 gr = 5 tangki
