Sudah mencapai belasan hectar lahan gambut di kabupaten Aceh Barat terbakar. Upaya pemadaman terus dilakukan agar api tak menyebar ke lahan lainnya. Diduga kebakaran tersebut disebabkan oleh ulah tangan yang tidak bertanggung jawab.
Saat ini kebakran terpara terjadi di dua wilayah yakni di Desa Cot Pluh Kecamatan Samatiga dan Desa Leuhan Kecamatan Johan Pahlawan, Kabupaten Aceh Barat sudah berhasil dipadamkan oleh petugas Badan Penangulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD).
Pemadaman kebakaran lahan pu turut dibantu oleh belasan Prajurit TNI AD Kodim 0105/ Aceh Barat dan Personel Polres Aceh Barat, upaya lain untuk terus meminimkan kebakaran lahan terus dilakukan oleh pihak petugas. Para pemilik lahan kini satu persatu mulai dimintai keterangan oleh pihak kepolisian.
Kendala yang dialami petugas dilokasi yakni, sumber air yang kurang memadai sehingga proses pemadaman menjadi lambat, jangkauan lahan yang luas, serta sarana yang kurang juga menjadi kendala dari pihak petugas saat melakukan pemadaman.
Namun, dalam hitungan jam hingga pukul 13.30 Wib Selasas (12/6) petugas gabungan itu berhasil memadamkan api yang telah melahap lahan gambut di Aceh Barat.
