A few weeks ago, I visited Leumang's traditional kitchen in Lhokseumawe. Leumang is one of the typical snacks of Aceh. This cake is usually produced during the month of Ramadan.
Three men were putting rice and water in bamboo and were about to be burned when I arrived. That day, the amount of bamboo to be burned was 190 bamboo.
A few minutes later, they put dried coconut skin under the bamboo. Bamboo is leaning on an iron as a support. Smoke billowed. Poignant eyes.
