Produced in Scotland's oldest grain whiskey distillery, Cameronbridge in Fife, Haig Club is an artisanal whiskey designed for the modern world. Kathy Parker, vice president of Haig Club, says that this whiskey is designed to be different. Historically, grain whiskey has been left in the background, in the shadow of Scotch single malts and blends, but Haig Club represents a new direction within Scotch whiskey, bringing grain whiskey to the foreground.
The whiskey comes in a bottle of blue glass, produced by House of Haig, inspired by the master blenders who used to use blue glass glasses to taste the whiskey, focusing only on its aroma and taste, and not on the sight.
The new whiskey is now available in the United Kingdom, and during the next few weeks it will reach other markets in the world and the Duty Free shops at airports. Its sale price is around 60 euros.

Nose The nose is a very light whiskey, with alcohol very present in the foreground. Then the strength of the alcohol goes into the background, with slight notes of vanilla, honey and lemon, and a fresh touch. Finally, we found a slight scent of bitter cereal and dry grass.
The palate Haig Club is an oily body whiskey, although very light on the palate. Here the presence of cereals is stronger, with slight notes of vodka. We will find sweet touches, with notes of caramel, vanilla and cinnamon. And a light fruity touch, with notes of banana.
The finish is extremely short, with notes of vanilla, ginger and cinnamon.
Haig Club is a simple and easy to drink whiskey. It does not lack flavor, but it is not a complex whiskey. It is a whiskey to drink on warm summer nights with a little ice.
Haig Club perfectly fulfills the intentions of Diageo: to create a whiskey for lovers of vodka and gin to be the new consumers of whiskey. A whiskey more indicated for cocktails, where its characteristics will stand out more strongly than those of other spirits.
