Heat is not good for PV

Let me share with you another specific that I have recently noticed by observing the parameters of our photo voltaic (PV) roof-top system.

The last three days that passed were extremely hot.

The peak temperature values were hitting the 40 degree Celsius psychological barrier.

That is 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

It seems the heat is pushing down electricity generation efficiency.

During the sunny days when it is not so hot the output out of 5kW max goes to 4kW, even 4.2kW.

In those last three days, included in the screenshots below, and you can see that yourself, the peak production is only 3.6kW.

That is the green component in the graphs below.

Hopefully the temperatures do not go any more up as the decreased production will not be the only issue then.

I really hope that by sharing this information I provided some useful insight to those of you who already have PV investments or to those of you who plan to invest into green energy production!
