snails and barnacles are some of the most common species that serve as single habitat for herbage for marine ecosystem. In temperate waters, the snails will allow microscopic plants and other organisms to grow on the surface of the snail's skin, and above its head. They attract microorganisms by producing oil from the mucous membrane of their shell. In turn, the microorganisms are attracted by the mucous membrane and establish symbiotic relationships with the snails.
There are 2 main factors which are beneficial for this: 1. Staphylococcus epidermis a bacterium in human has a role in snails disease. It will cause respiratory problems, kidney problems and throat infection. Snails can easily pick up infections as the gut is not fully developed. 2. The mineral content in their food.
The primary role of snails in the animal kingdom is they are predators of arthropods and small insects. They are not only ate by small insects but also by the big animals. In other word they are a natural pest control. As the animal kingdom is under stress, in a major way. due to global warming.
They are demanding their due share in the ecosystem and we are obligated to provide the same. Their Effect on the Soil Snails are non-timbering. therefore they do not harm the soil by cutting them, they only consume them. They even eat the pine trees. This is the basic fact. it does not kill them.
