Cards From My Personal Collection: Anthony Becht 2002 Topps NFL Card
Anthony Becht is a former NFL player, from my home state of Pennsylvania.
After a solid four year-career at West Virginia as a college player, Anthony Becht was a first round selection by the New York Jets in 2000.
Becht appears to have been slightly more on the blocking side as a tight end, rather than a flashy pass catcher. He made it work though, since he spent eleven seasons in the NFL! He he was a fairly useful target through the air at times. He retired in 2011 (he didn't play in 2010) with 1,537 receiving yards, 188 receptions and 21 touchdowns receptions. He spent time with the Jets, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Chiefs, and Rams. From 2001-2009, Becht appeared in all sixteen games as a player. He started every game from 2003-2006.
Since retiring Becht has taken on coaching. He coached in the now defunct AAF, and now he's actually the head coach AND general manager of the XFL's St. Louis BattleHawks.
