Sometimes the best places are the ones you never planned to visit.
During our trip back home after visiting Ciletuh Geopark in Sukabumi, we were disappointed because heavy rain and strong winds lasted almost the entire day. We had been looking forward to spending some time at the beach, but the weather simply wouldn't cooperate.
Just as we were about to give up and continue our journey home, we unexpectedly came across this quiet beach along the roadside. We didn't even know its name, but something about it made us stop and take a closer look.
The beach wasn't a tourist destination, which made it feel like a hidden gem. There were only a few people around, creating a peaceful atmosphere that was perfect for simply sitting, listening to the waves, and appreciating the view after a long rainy day.
Even though the sky remained cloudy and a light drizzle continued to fall, the scenery was still incredibly beautiful. The dark sand, rolling waves, lush green hills, and dramatic clouds blended together to create a calm and refreshing landscape. Sometimes nature doesn't need perfect sunshine to leave a lasting impression.
In the end, we decided to step into the water despite the drizzle. Laughing as the waves splashed around us turned our disappointment into one of the happiest moments of the trip. We may have missed the beach we originally planned to visit, but this unexpected stop gave us memories we never expected to make.
This experience reminded me that not every journey goes according to plan, and sometimes the places we discover by accident become the ones we remember the most.
