Open Tasks app is an open source application that is ad free and does not collect users and device information. it is one of the best apps around because it supports the basic basic task management and its easy to use with its friendly interface. As lovely as this app is ,google sync feature is missing which obviously will affect usability as it means users will lose their saved tasks if anything were to happen to their phone or if they were to uninstall the app because of one reason or another and they have to re-install it again.
It would be a nice addition to this application if google sync could be added. Google sync is a feature that helps to back up information on google account ,so even if user lost his mobile device ,all information and data are securely stored. When google sync is being used on apps like open task , changes made on the device would be backed up to the user's google account ,all other google data on the device sharing the same google account would be automatically synchronized as well . The basic aim of this google sync is to help keep information and data in case one has to wipe or format his /her phone, lose their mobile device or be able to access their data online anytime and anywhere.
The inclusion of "Auto Sync" feature to the google sync will also be an awesome feature as users don't need to set the synchronization as this will be done automatically by the app. However, for those that have limited or restricted data plan, they should be able to set the frequency of google synchronization in order to minimize their data usage.
It is proposed that the google sync feature should be added to the menu page. Below is how the menu page looks like when opened.

However, the google sync menu should also have the auto sync feature and the choosing of sync frequency settings for users that prefer this choice. Here is a screenshot showing both options
Under the choose frequency options, users can select the time and day frequency.
The addition of Google sync to the OpenTask app will benefit users in that they will be able to access their open task data online, anytime they want, from any device using google apps and without stress. It will also serve as a way to back up their tasks seamlessly.
