REWARD
Unlike other platforms, you get rewarded for your social media activities on steemit therefore upvoters ( steemians who upvoted your post) get a share of total payout from a post. This is called Curators reward and is pegged at 25% of the total payout while the 75% is for the author.and the author gets the payout after seven days
Another funny twist is that, the time you upvoted a post is crucial too. As all earnings in the first 30 minutes of a post is paid to the author. You only earn on upvote after 30 minutes.
