The fall of man in the Garden of Eden brought death to mankind, and this was actually recorded in the bible. When I was still a child I do wish we could all live here on Earth forever. I remember how I do have discussions with my friends as regards the fall of man and the consequences it brought upon us as a result of the fall.
Childishly, I have blamed Adam and Eve for allowing us to face such dreadful consequence as a result of their disobedience. Most times I do wish God could give us another opportunity, so that mankind won't experience death any longer. But do you think that is actually possible 馃?
Looking at the hivelearner contest prompt, I found it so interesting. What if I could actually clone myself; would it be an answer to my desire of living here on earth till eternity?
As much as I wish that mankind could live here on earth forever, I don't really love the idea of being clone into another being.
I love who I am. The fact is that if I am cloned, the cloned being can not actually replicate my true personality, even though it might have my past memories but yet I won't choose to live an unreal life. I actually see being cloned as living in the shadow of myself. There can't be full expression of myself in a cloned being. Even if technology is advanced enough to actualize such, yet I won't go for it, because that's actually a fake version of myself and I believe that might be more diasterous.
The fact that we all have a specific time to live here on earth is actually a great advantage to me. It gets me more focus and makes me more intentional and conscious of how I live my life. The consciousness that I have one life to live gives me the privilege to always maximize my time well. It encourages me to major on the major aspects of life rather than wasting time aimlessly. The fact that I can't live till eternity encourages me to live an impactful life. It's quiet easy to easily get distracted when you believe you have no time -bound here on earth. Thinking that I can live forever will only encourage lack of focus and determination in me and I won't wish to experience such in life, so I will prefer not to get cloned.
One major reason why I wish I could live here on Earth forever is because of my family and loved ones. I love them so much and I won't want to miss them. I wish I could live with them till eternity. When you have lovely people around you won't want to lose them or live without them . Will getting cloned be a bailout for me in living here on earth with my loved ones till eternity? Won't my personality or attitude be different from my original self when I get cloned? Won't there be a default in my personality that will put my family and friends in danger if am cloned? These are the questions I kept asking myself.
As good as being cloned sound, It doesn't worth it and I will rather choose not to consider it at all. I will choose to be my original self than to be cloned to become a duplicate version that is not real.
