Polygon ready for hard fork after a community debate that went on last year December.

Polygon one of the biggest blockchain appears in a post on Thursday that the Polygon moving to hard fork is coming in the next week, the proposed will occur by January 17, the network will upgraded from soft to help prevent network gas high rate and chain addresses. This upgrade will allow all node operators on the network to update to new working software.

Before now we all know Polygon has lower gas rate to Ethereum mainnet because of its proof-of-stake mechanism but not good in targeting the traffic spikes that can slow the network. Moving to hard fork will make the chain achieve a reduction in a gas fee spikes through doubling the value of the “BaseFeeChangeDenominator,” to help increase or decrease rate in baseFee for when the gas go above or go below the target gas limits in a block. Says by Polygon

I'm not a blockchain developer, so I can't say much about how this is going to improve the system, but Polygon believe on this new update is going to work better for their operation because it already backtested against its proof-of-stake mainnet data.

With my little ideas in tech, if we look back into the idea of chain addresses 'reorg' we'll see it a big problem for the chain. Reorgs occur sometimes because of malicious attacks or errors that blockchain deal with and that resulted in many lost of transaction why because during that time blockchain network split in different fold that caused duplicate transaction. This happened last year for many chains, Ethereum's Beacon suffered huge lose because of this too. However, hard-fork will help to mitigate the reorgs issue and reduce transaction delay time if implemented.

The hard-fork proposed will make a key different to Polygon likewise be a good news for devs and Polygon users because they will experience better features. All required is that node operator should upgrade their node before January 17 to prepare for the hard fork. And all dApps should be waiting for this fresh update that will take action.

Polygon getting ready for hardfork is keeping the system fresh.
