Hello friend, I trust your day is going great. Obviously we have been hearing about increasing population but do we really know the economic bad effect of increasing population.
Stay tuned as in this post I will be touching every aspect concerning the economic bad effect of increasing population.
Increase in population has the effect of having more mouths to feed and so this increases the level of consumption of the country. Look at this in this way, 500 men dominate a area and the cost of feeding them is like around $1000 imagine if it increases to like 2,000men around that same area, you will notice that it will be no more the $1,000 used in feeding them because that can't definitely be enough for them. Instead the amount of feeding need to increase to $4,000 to meet their feeding need.
But it is not every person that feed that can produce. Not every body who consume that can produce. Not everybody that can eat that can really produce product for eating.
The direct consequences of the labour Force who we have to shoulder the body of producing more to feed the teeming population. As the labour Force will need to double up their effort to meet the increasing population compared to the former population stats.
increasing population could also lead to unemployment in the country. This could happen because there is a tendency for the labour Force to outgrow the available co-operant factors of production. As it is obvious, as the population increases, the employment demands tend to increase which will limit opportunity for those unemployed and so increase the unemployment rate consequently.
So unemployment will come.
Allied with this is the fact that output per head will be low since there is unemployment. Imagine when there is no major source of income for a family for an example, the output of the family is to be considered low because there is no major factor of I to boost their output up
If output per head is low income per head we also be low this goes a long way to reduce the standard of living of the people in the country.
a crazy population also has the consequence of increasing the burden of the government of the country. the government will need to provide more schools, more hospitals and more infrastructural facilities. When the population is seriously on an increase rise, the government are forced to restrategize and think about how best and what best they can do, provide and create to fit the population demands. Things like schools, health care centers, infrastructural facilities and many more.
Since people have the tendency to move from rural to urban areas in their quest to enjoy social amenities, as that is just the desire of humans, we tend to move to where we think our needs, wants and desire can be meet and achieved instead of....
increasing population would have the consequence of increasing the number of people that will migrate to the cities with the result that the cost of houses will increase and cost-of-living generally will increase. The more population at hand, the higher the cost for houses and generally like I have said earlier cost of living will increase.
Apart from all these the government will find it very difficult to accumulate capital which could be used for the growth and development of the economy.
Because such resources for capital accumulation will have been used up in the process of trying to provide necessary amenities for the citizen of the country.
There will also be high level of illiteracy since the size of each family or some families would be too large for the parent to give their children the necessary education because of their poor financial position. Like I have earlier mention, the unemployment couple with the high cost of living will cause poverty in a family and by doing so will deprived the children in those set of family to be able to exposed to education or sound education because there is no enough and sound finance to send them and sponsor them for education which will in turn be an illiteracy to deal with in those such of family.
This will happen in a place like West Africa for instance where the population of a family could be as high as 24 or even more in some cases but it might not be really common like that in Europe or Asia places as there is good plan to regulate family planning and children counting.
