Last weekend, after long cold weeks the sun came out and i could smell the spring in the middle of the Austrian Alps.

For the first time i visited the city of Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol.

The city lies in the Inn Valley surrounded with huge white mountains. After a couple minutes in the city i immediately felt like home, the warmth of the people, the sunshine and the magnificent architecture of the middle ages made me smile.

I tried my best to capture the spirit in my photos. I hope you will feel the warmth and it will inspire you to visit this marvelous place. I will definitely come back as i fall in love with this wonderful place.

busy streets full of tourists

Colorful houses by the river Inn are an instant eye catcher as an contrast to the white mountains around the city

found a random medieval tunnel in the center, dont kow why but i liked it

the famous "Goldenes Dachl" the golden roof is a trademark of Innsbruck

Innsbruck is a popular student city

and a popular destination for older tourists

On my way back to Germany i had a stop by the frozen Walchensee lake at 800m hight at the Austrian-German border

I made more photos, but this were my favourites as they describe the vibe of Innsbruck.
