Someone just wants to audience to think they're game is breaking common social barriers and it ends up just ruining the experience. These scenes breed controversy and maybe that's just there for the shock factor and clout. I still think that sex scenes aren't a necessary part of the game and can at least be inserted as implied events happening in the background of storytelling if it's really part of the character development. Though I don't know what character development can be gained from showing carnal acts.
