I do have the same sentiments but then again if the story gets told by an anonymous writer, would you be able to tell the difference from canon or not? I personally wouldn't mind since I stuck around for the story. Of course the purist in me will nag about it but I watch because I want to be entertained and rather not put a lot of energy on the technical details that mean little when you enjoy the show. I'm sure several animations I watched had different animators per episode and different people in charge of writing filler episodes.
