This movie is incredibly good, I remember I saw it by chance because it was on TV and I loved it, then I watched it again because there were parts that I mis sed the first time (the bad thing about TV) and wow, it became one of my favorite animated movies (not counting anime).

The story catches you immediately, as you say, they are not the versions we are used to and that made it even more exciting. Visually it is beautiful, in particular the fairy and sandman I think are gorgeous.

Honestly it has absolutely nothing to envy to any Disney movie, on the contrary, it seems to me far superior to most of those produced by the house of the mouse.
