I want to sincerely thank God because the issue of scammers have drastically reduced today. Not that they don't work or get people but because of all the information we get through all social media platforms people are wiser now and you can hardly get someone that is their victim today.
Guys looking at the topic for week 240 and episode 1 that says - Scam. What's your experience with scammers? The truth remains that I have never been directly scammed at any time because somehow before they will get to me I will already know their move one step ahead of them. Having a discernment in me has really been of great help. Once I see a scammer I know. Not because of how they dress or how they talk but because there is something right inside of me that tells me about them. This has been my saving grace. I can't also say that totally I am free from their work. The only time that I can remember is when my Facebook account was hacked and also my WhatsApp was hacked. Though they did not get to do any damage to people because I immediately start calling people to alert them once I notice anything wrong. And all thanks to God for my husband who has always known the right thing to do so that he can stop them.
Permit me to share an experience that I had with a woman who was scammed years back because she was naive. Someone sent her a text message claiming that she won something from MTN and a number was given in that text message to call so that she will claim her money. She quickly called the number and that was how her problem started. The person told her a very big congratulations and asked her to send #3000 so that he can clear the money for her and send it to her account, she believed him. But later he said that it was better she send a recharge car that will cover for that money, she did. He requested for anything and she kept sending without asking questions maybe to a friend or even neighbors. She finally spent all the cash with her and she ran to the bank to withdraw more money so that she can buy some more recharge card and send. This story happened more than 15 years ago. She came to my shop with that excitement and asked me to give her mtn recharge car for #6000. #1500 in four places, I brought it out and I don't know what made me begin to ask her questions about who she wants to send it to and why. It was at that point that she opened up to me telling me that she won something and she was asked to send some money so that it will be cleared and sent to her account. As she was just explaining I just discovered that she was been scammed and immediately I told her it was as if something was removed from her eyes and she realized what she was doing. This woman had lost her husband and the little money she had in her account was cleared by scammers. She started crying in my shop but it was too late
