Hello brethren, I hope you are all doing well.
It's another great time to share the review of what our brother in the Lord, Eli Soriano, said In the MCGI YouTube video about forgiveness.
Forgiveness is a powerful thing that we all need to do in our Christian race.
To forgive is to let go of the suffering that the incident has caused. We forgive to have peace within ourselves.
In this teaching, we are made to know that there are two types of sins as was stated in the Bible.
The types of sins
• sin unto death
• sin not unto death
Let's take a look at Ist John chapter 5 verse 1, it says
"If a man sees his brother as a sin that is not unto death, he shall ask and he shall give him life; but the sin that is not unto death is a sin unto death. I do not say that he shall pray for him."
Some acts are viewed as mortal sins and there are acts that, even if your brother commits them, are not considered mortal sins.
The mortals' sins are the ones that you committed unintentionally, it was committed because humans are controlled by the flesh.
The flesh takes control of humans, even if you are a good Christian and you abide in the word of God always, you will be tempted and also commit a sin that will be beyond your control.
While the immortal sins are the intentional sins, which are stealing, telling lies, adultery, fornication, etc. These sins are intentional and they are sins unto death.
There was an incident in the Bible when Peter asked Jesus a sensitive question. Let's take a look at Matthew Chapter 18 verses 21-22.
It says ' Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times must I forgive my brother or sister who has sinned against me? Up to seven times?"
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
This tells us that some sins are pardonable in the Bible, you will have to forgive your brother, 490 times. That's a big amount of time. And I don't think anyone can count the number of times someone offended him. 490 is a very long way to offend someone. In short, we must forgive our brothers and sisters.
Also, some sins are unpardonable, these are the sins that you are sinning intentionally. The Bible makes it clear that it's unpardonable In
Hebrews chapter 10 verse 26, says
'For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins'.
We shouldn't sin intentionally after we have known the truth, because it's not pardonable.
We should also learn how to forgive anyone that offends us, it's very important. I hope we have learned some lessons from this teaching. Until next time, may the peace of the Lord be with you all.
