I think one of the worst fears or struggles. of any woman or most is the fear of those kilos that are acquired during pregnancy, some only gain a few kilos and lose them quickly, for others it is a terrible battle, my case was the second and losing those kilos was a great battle for me, in this publication I will tell you how I acquired those kilos and what it cost me to lose them and how I felt when I had them.

When I found out I was pregnant I was very scared, first because as I mentioned in previous posts, I was happy to be an aunt, I did not want to have children, it took me a little to assume my pregnancy and see that it was one of the best things that would happen to me in life, among my fears were to get fat, It seems normal to me to have stretch marks, but I have seen women who have too many and it is not to my liking, so the thought that I could be like that terrified me, but seeing the enormity of my belly, the latter alarmed me along with the fact of knowing that I gained more than a kilo a month.

Certainly, I thought I would be flat after the birth of Cristian Josué, now that I remember it makes me laugh, because it was impossible, to my surprise when I saw that belly that looked like a 4-month pregnancy I felt very bad, ugly, fat, unpleasant to look at and I hated still having to wear my pregnancy clothes, in a word, I felt ugly, very ugly.

In the same way, seeing my clothes in the closet and nothing fitting me was terrible for me, my sister who had already had her son, a few years before, realized how I felt and came over to talk to me and remind me of her experience, she really lost those kilos while breastfeeding, I actually got to look a little dry and my nephew looked like the little Michelin rubber doll, so I calmed down.

However, I did not count on the fact that my breast milk would not have the expected effect on my son, for three weeks or more I fed him exclusively with breast milk and he did not gain weight, on the contrary, he lost it, he looked very skinny and even malnourished, he lived with hunger, so I had to resort to formulas and although I continued breastfeeding him to preserve and strengthen the relationship between mother and child, I did not lose weight, that had me more frustrated every day.

However, I did not give up and I had no choice but to reduce the portions of my meals, if before I ate two arepas, now it would be one and so it was with all meals, plus I walked as much as I could, I took advantage of every outing, I took my son's car and walked, so I finally managed to lose those terrifying kilos that made me feel so bad and that gave me so much war to disappear, I recently told this story to a neighbor who was worried about the same issue and I feel that my experience helped her to calm down and I could not help but relive this whole experience in a very graphic way, reading it as one of the topics proposed in the #MomLife & #DadLife June 2022 Part I [ENG - ESP] || Daily Challenge even made me laugh and I remembered a picture I hate from that period, not because of the moment it treasures, it's because of how I look, hahaha.

Thank you for reading.png

To sum up, I think the vast majority of women are left with a few extra pounds after pregnancy, some more than others, this does not make us feel very good, unless you have been a skinny girl before, so we all want to regain that weight we had before conceiving our children, it is vital not to despair, It is vital not to despair, put hands to work and have the support of family and partner to not fall into a depression and achieve that goal, for some it takes longer than for others, but it is something that can be achieved, now I say goodbye, waiting to read a little of their own experiences in the comments box.
