Saludos catlovers
International Cat Day, since 2009 is celebrated on February 20 of each year the international day of these furry that we love so much, so today is not just any #Caturday is a super #Caturday, in this publication I will tell you a little more about how this celebration arose and also is not the only date where we celebrate our beloved felines.
In 1993 a cat named Socks whose family was the Clintons, who at that time were the presidential family of the United States, lived in Casablanca and became famous because he managed to infiltrate Bill Clinton's public events, which made him famous both in the U.S. and the rest of the world, as this rascal appeared in the presidential room during press events. He was also the second feline to be a companion animal, or rather the second presidential cat in the White House, where dogs have mostly been kept.
Proof of this many photos of beautiful cat next to his human or alone in that place, but sadly Socks was diagnosed with cancer and took the sad and hard decision to put him to sleep on February 20, 2009, after his death many animal organizations decided to establish his date of death as a reminder to all cats in the world.
Socks was very loved, so much so, that he received gifts. So famous was this feline that he even had a website. The precious Socks was born on March 15, 1989 and after his death was born this date that we celebrate today.
Now, in case you didn't know, this is not the only date dedicated to these beautiful and elegant animals, there are two others and I dedicated a previous publication to let you know they are August 8 and October 29.
As I write these lines I am very anxious waiting for a program to which I was invited by the línda people of @laradio, on the occasion of the celebration of this date, and by the time you are reading this publication has passed the program, but I hope to be able to tell you in another publication my experience, Since my desire is to be able to express the reasons why I love cats and animals in general and also to be able to infect, to call it in some way to others, perhaps to adopt a cat, perhaps to feed one in street condition, or to remember that they are lives and as such, should be respected.
I leave wishing that you also celebrate this day and support the little ones that don't have a home. Greetings catlovers
