"The Corona Virus is a Natural Disaster in Slow Motion"
This phrase comes from the German virologist Prof. Dr. Christian Dorsten from Berlin and it characterizes the creeping drama that is inherent in this virus and which is unfortunately still played down by many people.
A week ago in Germany alone we had about 1000 people infected by the virus, today there are about 5000 people being infected. The number of deaths has more than doubled, from 5 to 12 people who have died as a result of the corona virus.
Yesterday I read a comment by a steemian on the Corona virus:
Translation:
Typical human! Since Chernobyl 1986 the archaic (limbic) programming of the brain has not changed. I am still deeply relaxed. I would love to drive to St. Corona (city in Austria) and drink a bottle of Corona beer to celebrate our health. But who will save the climate now?
I don't know how you interpret this comment, but the commentator (and he's not the only one) seems to be unaware of the consequences and impact of the pandemic. Instead, a gallow humour is being spread in a cynical and sarcastic way, which - in my opinion - is completely out of place in the current situation.
Please take care of yourselves and do everything to slow down the further spread of the virus. We can't really stop it anyway.
