Hello, peers! It’s the last day of February – and, alas, thus ends the “No-Buy” theme. Yet, amidst its conclusion, I've gleaned valuable insights that I'll carry forward. Namely budgeting, exploring cost-free alternatives, travel/tourism, and cutting waste – detailed in my first ever SSC post here.

Progress has been made on my front this past week, albeit modest. As we stand on the cusp of March, I'm optimistic about furthering my investment towards SSC goals in the coming month – which I'll recap below...

  • Primary goal - 100 HBD
  • Secondary goal - EDSD 100

This last week I’ve designated a little of my earnings towards HIVE. I’m still very much in the experimentation phase, but have found inspiration in a number of articles and taking a look at other SSC users’ wallets. I feel oh-so-inspired, having spent the last hour catching with my nomadic, currently-NY-based friend and her wee bebe… who's gracefully managing life's challenges. And I spent two hours before that assigning my day-job income to different pots on YNAB. Further indication that a little extra savings and considered investment goes a long way – oh, I am so looking forward to the month of March with the Saturday Savers Club…

It is my – what – third week in SSC? There has been a little progression. Last week I was sitting at 0.056 HIVE; 26.252 HBD (savings); $ 57.591 total. And 140.336 HP - thanks to a very generous +50.000 HP (read last week’s post for dets). Now, I sit at 6.451 HIVE; 29.15,4 HBD (savings); $69.301 total. And 104.461 HP. This is very encouraging! As for my EDS aspirations... my account is still sitting at a (very) humble 2.000. In March we’ll see this change… tba, tba.

But I still have a lot to improve upon - and to learn. I have to acknowledge roleerob@roleerob, who does an excellent job of providing weekly tips in his SSC posts – the most recent accessible here. (If you, like me, are looking for a bit of friendly guidance, I recommend giving this account a follow!)

Still from my most recent post, “Language-learning bridging gaps”

I think success is about following a structured approach… establishing a cycle that builds on itself as a means of striving to avoid failure. I think actively publishing, engaging, voting, scrolling has really awakened a nice sense of rhythm. And, beyond the financial aspect, simply taking the time to really enjoy engaging with interesting communities and people... can add a lot more colour to one's day, if that makes sense?

Probably one of my favourite reads this last week was a post by dviney@dviney, titled “5 things we need to change about AI”. A thought-provoking article! Particularly the point about AI being considered a "legal person" subject to personhood. I reposted it to my blog – do take a read if you have the time!

Anyway, my energy is waning. The end is nigh.

That’s it from me for today -

Cheerio!

P.S. For those who are interested in joining, let me introduce you to the "Saturday Saver's Club": A delightful weekly gathering of individuals across the Blockchain, with the intention of uplifting each other in our savings endeavours.
