Hello World,
I heard about Steem while having a discussion with some coworkers and thought it might be worth giving a try.
I will tell you where my interests lie and hopefully that may spark some conversation with the community.
I have spent the last 10 years working with the general public as a distribution design engineer bringing power to the people. I am a poles and wires guy! I have see and heard just about everything from "there is an underground lava flow under one of the main streets in town to my smart meter is going to kill me."
I have developed both a deep cynicism and an overwhelming joy in the future of our society and the people in it.
I have some deep rooted philosophies in how I approach life. If you want it bad enough it is worth fighting for, but it will not be given to you. So get off the couch and make it happen!
Prior to my time working with the public, I had the distinct pleasure of working on the other end of the utility spectrum working on Transmission and Substation design. I spent many hours walking through the woods, or up in a helicopter scouting transmission line corridors and substation siting either for maintenance or initial design.
Some of you may see me as the enemy, however ironic that may seem as you type away on your computer whose power I possibly may have helped deliver to your home. None the less, I am a very fortunate person who has gotten to see the world from behind the curtain and from what I see the future is bright and though millennials do provide us with some real challenges, I do believe that they will also bring us some amazing new technological advances and I can't wait to watch it all happen in front of my eyes.
