This CNBC article and many other Mainstream Media sources are reporting that on March 29th 2018 Will Pharrel and many other celebrities are joining this "#deleteFacebook" hashtag movement which is great! But Please DO NOT delete your facebook, because chances are youre not a celebrity, and we NEED as MANY Steemians as POSSIBLE to be promoting Steem THROUGH their facebooks, especially by using the linked facebook account feature on the Instagram App which let;'s you promote Steem on your Instagram facebook Twitter an Tumblr all at the same time with ONE post on Insagram (like I do at https://instagram.com/ackza770 I ONLY use it to promote Steem! ) And if we AL used our facebooks to post ONLY about Steem we could get a LOT of free web traffic for steem! So Deleting Facebook is ONLY useful if you are an actual celebrity and people NOTICE! My friend almost deleted his facebook and then since he lost his phone he would have had NO way to contact me or others since steemit has no direct messages! So until Steemit is a BIG as facebook, which won't be for many years, then don't delete your facebook, just post more on steem and maybe encourage OTHERS to delete facebook but you MUST not shoot yourself in the foot! Make sure you USE Faceook to promote STEEM while you CAN and don't just shut off a GREAT beachhead not the legacy social media world! Keep your footholds! This is like saying delete your youtube account when Dtube is still in its infancy and doesn't even keep videos up for longer than a few moths! We still rely on Youtube fr ALL long term Video storage and we still rely on Facebook IG Twitter and Youtube and Reddit to reach the MAJORITY of people online since we don't even have 1 million users on steemit yet! One day when we fork steemit inc and kick out Ned and the lazy fat people in charge then yes we WILL end up with more than 1 million people but for now, we can't even approve more than 200 people a day, and account recovery is broken, so steemit inc is failing and they REFUSE to deliver hard fork 20 & SMTs
