I actually haven't posted about these gardens in Bali... this waterlily pond anyway. Caught these at the Tirta Gangga water garden which was a former royal palace in eastern Bali, Indonesia.
This place is wonderful for a nice peaceful walk... if not for the crowds, but once you get to the further ends, the crowds thin and you can actually breathe...
The air is cool as Tirta Gangga sits on the slopes of Mt Agung, the highest mountain in Bali.
Here, we are only looking at one pond ~ the waterlily pond! And this is the regular waterlily... There was another pond, with the huge waterlily, the Victoria! We'll leave that for another day!!
This was a big pond with antique fountains stretched out in a row in the centre
They weren't switched on when we visited but still the place was amazing
One thing I would have to take my hat off to the Balinese...
Is their gift for being one with nature
And their talent in landscaping!
Now you know why people all over the world crave to recreate Balinese gardens in their own homes...
Such wonderful match-ups with plants and trees of various shapes, heights, amazing spread of branches
I liked this view I got of the large leaves (Elephant yam plants in a tree-form??) against the tree with bare bony branches reaching jaggedly outwards in the background
For the colour fans, I will have another post of these and more, in colour!
