Haha, Malay is derived from many other languages - but chiefly Indian (Hindi) and even Chinese! 'Kepala' in Malay means 'head' :D 'Kepal' is a fistful, so I guess it's to mean the shaved ice that's shaped/formed by tightening the fist to shape the ice ball.
