If these people were only reducing large rewards, I would be fine with it.

You should know that the posts you seem to talk about that were indeed downvoted close to 0 (which I personally don't agree with either) are posts that were sharing their rewards with a project that engages in self-voting by having indirectly forcing their community members to give them half of the rewards back through beneficiaries in order of receiving their votes: @eliorrios/posts, if you look at other accounts posted in said community that aren't sharing 50% of their rewards with them they aren't getting downvoted.

As for the other posts it seems none were downvoted as heavily, just some rewards skimmed off as they were overrewarded for the effort placed onto the content.
