Not sure I completely agree about Hive not being a longterm investment, many would argue some inflation is good compared to crazy inflation or bitcoin's model; deflation in the long run. Point is very few platforms have managed to monetize attention in an open and transparent way, everywhere else you have to always pay the platform to garner it (advertising, subscriptions, black market activities to push you to trending/in front of the right eyes), here you can just buy/rent HP and curate people talking about your product, you literally just have to show up, have a lot of HP and people will be posting about you before you even get a chance to announce your presence some times.

The reason our attention isn't worth anything is because we've never had the userbase yet, but things will drastically change once that happens. And even if that happens, if advertisers/stakeholders decide to use attention-rewarding in the wrong way the community can transparently counter/step in to allow others to see the reason for why something got downvoted and if they agree with it having been rightful or not. It's super unique and I highly doubt anyone else will create something that gives the users of the platform so much power as hive has.
