We got some pretty good news for scrobble.life authors recently!

Due to the wild activity in our community, and a reason I set up a way for people to pay for subscriptions through delegations on the scrobble.life@scrobble.life account, I was looking around to see if we could get some additional show of support for what we're building here.

If you look at the interactions it's quite awesome to see compared to say other top communities such as splinterlands:

Either way, the good news is that we'll be getting some support from not only one of the largest accounts on hive, but the largest account on hive!

Now of course we don't wanna throw votes out willynilly just because we can, we've always made an attempt with some other project accounts to not "overreward" content and spend voting power wisely, but since Hive is quite low now and the amount of unique users using our community that spans on a large variety of media kinds, it's nice to have some extra voting power to show to some of the top authors providing content to our website and community.

We will also strive for improving the quality of posts with this so that the amount of quality reviews on our website grows to potentially display ads later to make the site and everything revolving it self-sustainable.

There'll be a few changes with this, for now, I've been quite solo trying to curate the whole community on a daily basis, but since we'll be able to give amazing posts bigger votes, we're going to need some extra manpower as well. Thus I've asked a curator friend who has a lot of experience with media content in the past to help out.

At the same time, we also wanna make sure to make use of the daily "highlighted" posts by, well, highlighting them on the website, so outsiders get some of the best of the best at their fingertips as first impressions.

The way we'll be doing this is by creating compilation posts that display the highlighted posts of that day the same way scrobble@scrobble displays highlighted posts that have been accepted by nominators and curators, then also show highlighted cards of those posts depending on which kind it is to the respective page on scrobble.life. This way the curators going the extra mile to look for the best of the best get some author rewards for their time and we generally improve curation so it's not just a 1 person job forever all the while giving the posts more attention both on hive and on the website.

Anyway, just wanted to get that out there, I'll be trying to finish a few things here in the next few days that are about ~90% done: creator subscriptions + backstage editors, mobile scrobbling gateway and a new and improved onboarding program through scrobble.life that we hope more users will give a try!

After that, well, I will need to take some real time off and travel a bit cause honestly it's been a long year with a lot having been done. 👋

(I'll still try to remember to shitpost now and then)
