Let's just pretend we can't tell when someone is using AI.
Let's just always play the good guy who never uses downvotes and make anyone using them out to be horrible disgusting people.
It's so easy right? Oh thank you so much for the kind comment and the emoji's you carefully selected replying to every ecency wave that day in a minute or less in the exact same format and emoji's. You're such an amazing person that took the time to consume all of the content, create amazing replies to all of them and handpicked the fitting emoji's for the occasion. What an awesome lovely activity we got here from this person, our platform is the best. Hopefully no one comes in and attempts to ruin it!
Like am I hallucinating lately or are some people actively ignoring obvious AI bots for some reason?
I get it they may have something against me and wanna take the other side, but if they're actively not protecting the reward pool to make sure it goes to real people, who's really the asshole here?
Like holy fuck, either they're super daft or just ignorance is bliss or actively creating them themselves.
I wasn't gonna mention this in the post the other day, but we have seen other platforms attempt similar strategies in the past, like when leo managed to get themselves $250k or what it was from the DHF and conveniently launched all these account creations a couple months before they were ready to shit out another proposal for double the money all the while their front-end was mainly AI bots and maximizers and a bunch of sheep holding the bags.
Thank fuck we didn't fund it any longer, but it's starting to feel like some people are just choosing to ignore obvious bots because it may make their numbers look better. Disregard that some front-ends still hold a large amount of active daily users even without trying to bribe them with votes and points as if that doesn't tell you enough about this one, but if the next step is just to allow AI bots to be rewarded and continue doing what they wanna do at the cost of the rest of Hive then I'm going to have to put my foot down.
Excuse the language but your front-end isn't that important that you have to allow bots to prevail and flourish there to attempt to trick others to use it or just to make the numbers look better. If someone's bothering to spend time to check on these bots and actively discourage them with downvotes then they're doing you and everyone else on the platform a favor, you're in no way in the right to attempt to defend them while trying to throw more dirt at the person trying to keep this place clean. If you keep doing that you may as well be creating the bots yourself and be seen as someone actively ruining the platform for the real users, thus a threat to the ecosystem.
Some will say I "love" the power of downvoting people or that it's amazingly fun to go and hunt for random people to downvote, ignoring the fact that most of these just happen to reply to me so I notice them when checking out their activity to decide if I wanna follow/curate their posts. Downvoting or looking for things to downvote is only a net gain, your whole fucking activity spreading shit about me proves that it is a net gain for me personally, but someone's gotta or else this place becomes overrun by bots and fake bullshit.
I could just as easily go record some gameplay or watch another movie than god forbid downvote someone obviously using AI to pretend to consume and create engagement. What a fucking joke.
Anyway, kind of a rant and I'm not actually that worked up, but holy shit some people can hold a grudge for long and try and use anything you do against you any chance they get like their shitty old lives depend on it.
