Sometimes you don't want to learn anything new but then your friends, in this case @ph1102, send you a link to a youtube video and you can't help watching it. After that, you end up researching stuff, visiting websites and getting tons of ideas... This was the case for me with AI agents.

What is an AI agent?

There are different ways to define an AI agent, this is just one try to do so. In my opinion, an AI agent is a virtual being that is powered by AI. It is active with a purpose online and learns from the feed-back it gets. Over time, this agent gets smarter and smarter in it's task.

What can an AI agent be usefull for?

There are probably an incalculabe number of ways that an AI agent can be usefull. It can answer your e-mails and get better and better at it, it can write tweets for you and become an influencer, it can trade for you and increase your earnings, it can answer questions regarding your business and become an expert at it. These are just a few cases that I came up with but there are no limits. I can imagine an AI agent driving your car, making your groceries, building your house,...

When will we see AI agents ?

There are already AI agents that are very active:

ai16zeliza is an AI agent that as an investment DAO tries to earn as much money as possible (website, on x)
Luna is an AI agent that is a virtual influencer that runs a full day life stream. It has 45'000 followers on X
Zerebro is an AI agent that creates art in different forms (website)

There are many AI agents out there that do similar or very different things.

Why could AI agents be important for hive?

Most of these AI agents are linked to blockchains like Solana, Base, Sui and others. There are plugins on some frameworks like Eliza to build AI agents for some of these chains. Often these AI agents also have their own token that can be traded. There are even places where you can launch your tokens like https://app.virtuals.io/.

For the moment, it seems that hive is out of the loop of AI agents.

How could they be used on hive?

If you think to create an AI agent that generates posts for you, this is probably the single worst use case on hive. But what about an agent that trades for you? An agent that curates quality content? An agent that promotes hive on other social media like twitter or youtube? An agent that answers all the questions related to hive to newbies? An agent that gives trading advice to others using snaps, waves or threads and burns the rewards? An AI agent that replaces the HBD stabilizer to bring HBD closer to peg? An agent that promotes your game on different channels?

Why would hive be good for AI agents?

I have to say that so far, I don't really know how these AI agents work but I can imagine some nice advantages that hive can provide:

For the moment, the AI agents have to use social media like twitter, telegram or discord to use their full power. They could use hive for it but there should be a common decision that AI agents are visibly marked and that they have to burn their rewards.
Contrary to other blockchains, hive has no transaction fees. It would be very easy for AI agents to transact on hive. The question would be if hive can deal with that? Hive could be used for a whole array of usages of AI agents in the real world.
The whole hive blockchain is composed of text content that could be used for AI agents to learn.
