I have been on the blockchain since 2017 and I probably wanted to take part in the Hive Power Up Challenge a 100 times. For some reasons I always missed the opportunity to do so on the correct date.
For once, I managed to power up on the correct date, on the first of the month! To be honest, my friend 
In December 2020, I had 5933 Hive Power and I set a target to reach 10'000 Hive Power until the end of 2022. But this year was kind of special. Especially the Splintershards of Splinterlands were a real game changer for me. I also managed to sell a couple of cards for a very nice price and I pulled some money out of the game to reach my target of 10'000 Hive Power in July already.
I have continued to power up my earnings and even sold some Chaos League vouchers and I'm quite happy to be able to power up 1000 Hive today. This brings my Hive Power to a total of 17'275. So who knows maybe I will reach 20'000 HP until the end of the year!
Powering up brings a lot of advantages. Firstly, I can generate more curation rewards and increase my earnings but what I like most about a big stake is that I can now upvote all the comments on my posts without running out of voting power and at the same time make these upvotes big enough that they don't turn into dust. So more Hive Power means more votes on comments, more posts to upvote and more value to distribute to my friends and the great authors on Hive...
