Blockchain technology hasn't been created as a complementary technology for the banking system and all sort of governance systems, it has first and foremost been designed as a disrupting technology, something that would unroot the old and plant new seeds for a better online and offline reality.
Hive blockchain is by far my favorite blockchain and it's futile to once again iterate why has Hive become my favorite blockchain, but lets have a look at Hive's disruptive nature and what makes it apart. So...
What is Hive Actually Disrupting?
First and foremost I believe that Hive is disrupting social media as we know it and it is doing so primarily by offering ownership over ones personal account, an important aspect that traditional medias such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are failing at. You simply don't own your Facebook account, but you do own entirely your Hive one and all of its transactions.
Freedom of speech is an important so called "granted right" humans should have, both on and offline, but past events such as the elections from the US, covid protests and even the Ukraine-Russia and Kazakhstan events have proven that we no longer have that much freedom of speech at hand and Hive has multiple times been an open channel for sensitive information to be spread.
I often consider Hive as a way better source of information, whether conspiracy theories, finance or just regular news than most of the CNNs and whatever we have these days as established media outlets.
What about gaming, sir?
Well, I don't know how much it has disrupted the blockchain gaming industry, if we can call it an industry, but I sure know that Splinterlands being one of the top blockchain games out there is not to be overlooked. We can call for pretty much the same attributes for Hive as a traditional gaming disrupter as in the case of social media.
You simply own everything in that game, that you can, and you can also earn while having fun....
Hive is disrupting blockchains as well... I know this one might sound weird, but when you think of it for a while it's not that outrageous of a statement. We have Ripple blockchain for example, which is considered and advertised as a blockchain network by its founders and "owners", but in reality Ripple is not a true example of a blockchain, like Satoshi has envisioned this tech.
It is more of an open ledger, whilst Hive is as decentralized as it can be, it's basically feeless to use, it has insane transaction speeds and is unfortunately "transparent as hell". Hence I will call it a blockchain disrupter as well.
Not to mention that comparing it with other decentralized blockchains it hosts much more usable apps than these ones... Usability is a vital quality for a successful blockchain network imo.
Online entrepreneurship is also something worth pondering on when talking Hive, "the disruptor". You can literally blog and earn crypto that you can exchange for cash, instead of doing all sort of tasks on fiverr and whatever is out there to do online for earning a living or simply adding some extra income. I bet some of the threespeak users we have are earning better than quite a few youtubers out there.
That's also worth mentioning for the sake of the topic. So, what do you think is Hive good at disrupting, or better said what is it actually disrupting?
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
