I'm not much into checking stats and following a rigorous growth of my experience on Hive. I'm a bit messy in this regard and the same goes for my trading and investing in crypto. I guess I'm too emotional to be disciplined. I admit that.
However, I just checked my account on hivestats and it seems that I have earned a total of 27,047 HIVE in my over four years of experience. 26,405 HP comes from author rewards solely, thus I can say that I'm more of a content creator than a curator.
Living off crypto and Hive rewards means that I can not afford harnessing too much HP in order to be a decent curator. Call me what you will, but I have sold most of my earned HIVE and I see no problem with that. The only problem is that I have sold quite a good chunk at low prices.
On Leofinance you get both of your curation and content creation tokens in liquid form, thus it is you who decides whether powering it all up or just a percentage. Hive blockchain has been designed that you can opt for either 100% HP or 50/50 for your rewards.
I have opted for 50/50, but in order to have powder at hand I had to power down a lot and the 13 weeks power down duration is kind of long if you ask me. It took HIVE two weeks to go from $1 to close to $4. How much power down can you have in two weeks to be able to profit from such a rally?
I know that probably the majority is not into powering down at all, but some of us are and it would have been great to have instant power down available, even at a cost. I am sure that such an option would probably create volatility for HIVE, but it would be handy imo.
I bet some of us would even pay a 10% fee or something like that for such an option. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame the system for selling plenty of HIVE under $3.41 which was the top recorded last year. It's hard to catch the top, or the bottom, but imagine if you could have instantly powered down your HP, or a good chunk of it, sell that at $3 and above and buy now back at under $0.80, wouldn't that be a good deal.
So, what's your take on instant power down, how would you see that being implemented, what do you think would be the benefits and drawbacks of such an option?
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
