If there's one thing I detest about New Year's Eve, it's the premature fireworks. I don't know about you, but in my neck of the woods, holiday fireworks are a chaotic and quintessential part of Eastern Europe. We're not that refined, and that's both a blessing and a curse.
On one hand, chaos is vexing, but on the other, chaos signifies defiance, and I'm a staunch advocate of disobedience. Anyway, as 2023 prepares to fade into oblivion, 2024 is poised to take the spotlight. Will 2024 outshine 2023? Time will tell, but rest assured, tonight will witness a plethora of New Year's resolutions and promises that won't stand the test of the coming year.
I steer clear of New Year's resolutions because I don't believe in overnight, drastic changes. Progress usually requires time, and life-altering habits need time to form, with inevitable setbacks along the way. It's commendable to harbor good intentions and continually strive for self-improvement—I'm perpetually caught up in that hustle.
However, 2023 was a letdown for me. It sucked, and not in a good way. None of the aspirations I held for this year came to fruition. I'm not wealthier than I was in 2022; on the contrary, I failed to secure the desired job or entrepreneurship, and I've veered off course from my fitness goals.
Yet, one year doesn't define an entire lifetime, and despite being a dismal year, 2023 has been an instructive one. I've acquired a newfound appreciation for money, time, and health. In 2023, I aged, became poorer, but undoubtedly wiser.
I've grown more cautious about how I spend my money, discerning about whom I trust, and focused on making days count rather than counting them. Counting days is a futile practice, in my opinion. Making days count, irrespective of their weather, is an accomplishment not everyone can claim.
So, yes, 2023 sucks, but it sucks in a constructive way. This year taught me not to place blind trust in anyone, to refrain from squandering money on unnecessary things, and to heavily invest in crypto due to my profound belief in its potential. I take nothing for granted, and I'm committed to further self-improvement in the coming year.
Fulfilling my dreams, mostly crafted in the canvas of 2023, will demand time and effort, but I'm resolute in pursuing them. If I fail, no big deal, but at least I'll have tried.
So, farewell 2023; you've been a profoundly disappointing year, surpassing the letdowns of 2020, 2021, and 2022, but undeniably a necessary experience. Hopefully, 2024 will be more gratifying and fulfilling. Time will tell.
This marks my final post for the year, as I prepare for the New Year's Eve celebration. Before signing off, I want to wish you all a Happy New Year and an enjoyable New Year's Eve celebration! See you all next year.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
