Is it true that charcoal can produce hydrogen?
Indonesia basically has a lot of natural resource potential (SDA) that can be used as renewable energy. It's just that, it's stuck in the process of thought and development.
Starting from his visit in Austria, Professor of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Malang, Professor I Nyoman Gede Wardana discovered something unique in one technology, one of the studies in Austria. A battery capacitor can charge energy quickly using coconut shells.
For about three to four years, Wardana attempted to examine charcoal or coconut shells which then referred to advance material. Advance material in general about the foremost science that uses any material as long as it is thought in the latest way.
From there, said Wardana, it can produce advanced material that he sees in charcoal that is not common to the general public.
We have lots of charcoal and charcoal that's carbon. If you think about cutting-edge science and conceptualized it will be an advanced material
In his research, Wardana used advanced materials that mixed activated carbon and semi-conductor. The semiconductor uses oxidized copper and is then mixed with charcoal. What is special, namely mixing electrons from carbon and semi-conductors can produce hydrogen quickly.
Wardana explained, basically changing anything into hydrogen requires energy. If you use advanced energy, the reaction to produce hydrogen will be faster. The process will be ten times faster than 700 seconds in general, even more than twice as efficient.
And from this research, kapok oil, castor oil, used cooking oil, etc. in Indonesia can be converted into hydrogen.
By conducting this research, Wardana was included in the list of researchers at the world level. He won the IAAM (International Association of Advanced Materials) Scientist Medal for the latest theories in the world. He can reveal the scientific secret of how materials combined can dance beautifully and produce hydrogen
Regarding this research and award, Wardana assessed that Indonesia actually had everything that unfortunately no one thought in the direction that the world expected. The potential in Indonesia can be explored to the maximum extent possible and the world has acknowledged that. In fact, he did not need a sophisticated laboratory to be chosen as the recipient of the world's high awards in the world of research.
