Semua bahan ditakar secukupnya disesuaikan dengan porsi takaran mie yang akan dimasak, kemudian semua bahan rempah/bumbu masakan tersebut digiling hingga halus. Bawang merah akan kita gunakan sebagai bumbu dasar untuk tumis, bisa juga ditambahkan sedikit cabai dan tomat. Sedangkan buah kol adalah bagian sayur yang penting untuk menambah cita rasa, bisa juga kita menambahkan toge sebagai sayuran pelengkap dalam masakan mie aceh, tetapi kami hanya menggunakan saja bawang merah sebagai bumbu tumis dan kol sebagai sayuran pelengkap.
