Mount Mayon is a stratovolcano in the province of Albay in Bicol, Philippines.
Due to it's symetrical conic shape Mt. Mayon was renowned as the "perfect cone" and is a centerpiece of the Albay biosphere. Old folks from the province states that the name of the volcano was derived from a legendary folklore princess DARAGANG MAGAYON, thus it is where the name Mayon was created.
