Can Japan stop Iran/US tensions?
Recently, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe offered to help mediate the situation between Iran and the US on his trip to Tehran, however, now with Iran picking up their enriched uranium production Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has warned the United States that it "cannot expect to stay safe" after starting what he called an "economic war" against his country. This coming a few weeks after Donald Trump warned Iran to never threaten the US ever again! This all continues over sanctions that have been crippling Iran economically and it seems Germany is coming to the aid of the country German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas says a European financial system, designed to avoid US sanctions, should be up and running soon. What will that bode for Germany and the US? It appears most of Europe wants to remain within the deal, so what could happen to them or the US in that situation? Al Jazeera reports on the German/Iran meeting/
It seems to look like Donald Trump's bravado isn't getting him anywhere any more. As he continues to poke countries with sanctions and tariffs, damaging trade and relationships, it could turn out that the US will be condemned if something isn't done soon. As Trump continues to act like a spoiled child about the state of his countries, world leaders will only take so much. If the situations continue it will only further damage the United States' already bad reputation. Japan's visit might be completely in vain. What do you think? Have a very nice day!
