Deep stuff.
Profound in fact.
What have we become?
We must refind ourselves in nature, in the now. No phones, no tech, just birdsong, majestic mountains quietly just being, be as present as we can in human interactions, give time to people even if we perceive we're in a rush? In a rush to what? To eventually die is the only certainty, so maybe give people our time and care for strangers and friends and family equally... As Nick Cave says "we’ve all had too much sorrow, now is the time for joy" - I try to bring as much joy to my interactions as I can, so that people leave said interaction feeling better than before...
Context of Nick lyrics.. From the Joy on Wild God album..
And then I saw a movement around my narrow bed
And then I saw a movement around my narrow bed
A ghost in giant sneakers, laughing stars around his head
Who sat down on the narrow bed, this flaming boy
Who sat down on the narrow bed, this flaming boy
Said, we’ve all had too much sorrow, now is the time for joy
This song and both recent albums (Ghosteen and Wild God) remind me of my own daughter who died in 2014. The songs make me sad, but happy at the same time, as I like to think of her and his words bring me there...
For those not familiar with the song..
Thanks @riverflows for helping me with that introspection ❤️
