I'm pretty much independent since I was 21. I lived at home while doing my Engineering degree and moved out around a month after finishing it. I was thought from a young age about work ethic and the value of hard work and earning something. We all worked on the farm as children and I got my first part time job in a nearby hotel aged 15, where I worked over the following six years (well there and other hotels) while studying full time in school and university. I have three sons now, and I wonder when they will move out, not that I am in any rush for them to do so, but I certainly would like to see them in their own place by their mid twenties, unless they are still studying (medicine or dentistry for example)
