For example, IMO, every unrelated comment to your posts shows disrespect toward the author and we all saw examples of that... The commentator shows that doesn't care about you or your content, and he came just to benefit himself... To get an upvote, to collect a badge, to add 1 comment more to his "goal", to move on the leaderboard, etc. Maybe it sounds too harsh, but it is like that...

I totally agree and nothing irks me more on Hive than people either leaving a "Nice post" comment or something irrelevant. Another annoying one is leaving comments in a different language than the post is written in - I often go to google translate and respond in that language, but really the person reading should have the courtesy to do it..
