So ya met herself by accident at Witness, that's class. I never made it to Witness, but did Oxygen and Electric Picnic a few times and it was unreal craic altogether, nothing quite like it, especially Electric Picnic where you have great food trucks, tonnes of space, arty stuff and comedians along with the music. Those weekends were epic, not sure if I could handle the camping now, would have to be one of those VIP teepies or a local B and B methinks...
Jesus Beck looks like he put on a serious show, that's one I would love to have been at, now best ever Gig, hmmmmm that's a tough one, so I'll go for a top three instead in no particular order....
James Brown Oxygen 2005 -- That gig was insane, the Master of Funk did not disappoint and luckily we were in early, as thousands more had to listen from outside as the tent filled quickly..
Elbow Electric Picnice 2008 -- Elbow -- they had just brought out Seldom Seen Kid and they absolutely rocked the place, unreal stuff. My own Pixie girl/girlfriend (now wife) was with me and she went off with one of her girlfriends to watch Duffy instead while Elbow were on - it haunts her to this day!!
The National (seen them around 5 times) They impress every time, just love Matt Berringer's voice and lyrics. You should catch a gig if you can, although the unfortunate thing is they rarely play small intimate places anymore in Ireland anyway.
Honourable mentions: Scroobious Pip and Dan Le Sac at Forbidden Fruit, Snoop Dog at the point, Muse at Marley Park, Arcade Fire at Marley Park, Foo Fighters at Slane, Audioslave doing Rage Against the Machine songs at either Oxygen or EP, In the Pit for Green Day and RHCP at one of those festivals
