Djent is a funny internet genre that sprang up when 7 and 8 string guitars became popular. The name comes from the sound of the rhythm parts of the songs that sound like djent dj djent djent to a heavy drum beat. Then the rest of the song is crazy almost jazzy guitar riffs.

Cool... this is new to me, I had never heard of Djent before stopping by your post for an auld listen. Animals as Leaders was quality stuff, that guy knows his way around the bottom end of a guitar!! Wowsers...

Misha Mansoor and Bulb were excellent too, though it's a pity the video does not show the guitar playing.
